A precedent has been set for electoral matters —Gbajabiamila
House of Representatives Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on his sure victory at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal on Wednesday.
He said that a precedent has been set for electoral matters in the country beside of this judgement.
Gbajabiamila also congratulated the national leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress on the victory.
He also appropriately commended Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, for “testing the court.”
The Tribunal, the petition by the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar was dismissed.
The Speaker, in a statement issued on Wednesday, gave major applauses to the Nigerian judiciary, especially members of the tribunal, for doing their job adequately without experiencing fear or favor.
In a statement he signed, Speaker Gbajabiamila felicitated Nigerians and members of the APC family nationwide for the victory.
He said, “I am elated to congratulate the President on his victory at the tribunal. Ab initio, I had no doubt whatsoever in my mind that the President would come out victorious, considering the massive support Nigerians gave the President before and during the February 23 presidential election.
